1998
FMC Files Inorganic Sealant Composition Patent
A patent for hardening / sealing concrete and masonry substrates to provide protection against moisture and salt intrusion. This includes various reactive lithium treatment technologies for enhancing surfaces and mitigating ASR.
2000
ADVAN Acquires Various Patented Lithium Technologies
This included the acquisition of intellectual property from FMC including a strategic supply agreement and trademarks. ADVAN then launches CONVERGENT CONCRETE TECHNOLOGIES, LLC to commercialize these technologies.
2001
Introduction of the PENTRA brand
A line of specialty products for distribution.Introduction of PENTRA®-SIL Lithium Silicate Densifier replacing sodium and/or potassium silicate densifiers. This creates a new standard in the flooring industry for hardening, densifying, and sealing concrete. Introduction of Patented Pentra®-Sil (244+), an advanced Hardener, Densifier and Sealer that provides moisture, salt and effloresce protection.

Introduction of Pentra®-Guard HP, Guard EXT & Paint
Introduction of Pentra®-Guard (HP) ~ the first “GUARD,” a micro-film forming inorganic Hardener/Sealer Hybrid to provide enhanced wear, chemical resistance, and stain protection for industrial floors.
Introduction of Pentra®-Paint a patented lithium inorganic coating as a protective colored coating for industrial floors and line marking paint.
Introduction of Pentra®-Guard (EXT) the first “EXT” ~ an inorganic Hardener/Sealer Hybrid for exterior applications providing enhanced wear, chemical resistance, and stain protection for pavers and other masonry substrates.

These formulated (NL) products offered a unique strength and unmatched performance compared to conventional treatments allowing for optimized applications faster drying, higher solids, and more complete reactions.

Pioneering of the maintenance market
With “micro-film forming treatment” (alternative to mechanically grinding and polishing method) using inorganic hybrid treatment and high-speed burnishing with diamond impregnated pads – enhancing gloss, stain and wear resistance. This process changed the way floors are maintained as well as constructed today.Introduction of Pentra®-Sil (C&N) and Pentra®-Sil (AC) Surface Sweating Alkalinity Control Formula and Primer, to neutralize surfaces suffering from alkalinity problems.

Pentra®-Pel (SI)
Is a dual component product—mixing Part A with Part B provides Advanced Micro-bonding Stain Protection for stone, masonry and concrete. Pentra®-Pel (SI)’s reactive, hydrophobic and water-repellant properties protect porous and absorbent surfaces prone to water-borne staining, efflorescence, dirt and grime build-up.
2018
Pentra®-Cure (MH) cures
Hardens and densifies in a single application after finishing, creating a protected surface during the construction phase from accidental spills and staining which can damage the substrate’s intended profile. This all-in-one treatment minimizes hairline cracking, dusting, spalling and other surface defects common to improperly cured concrete.

The COLORFAST™ SYSTEM
Is a complete line of quality products designed and engineered specifically for the architectural polished colored concrete.
